Query Eighty

PIKE—YOUNG. Wanted: Any information concerning the ancestors and descendants of two brothers, namely, WILLIAM PIKE and ABRAHAM PIKE (who may have been ABRAM PIKE as he was called “Uncle Abe”). They lived in the vicinity of Nashville, Tenn., and very likely in Robertson County, Tenn. There is a possibility that they lived in or near Springfield or Youngsville in said county. Query: Were they related to WILLIAM PIKE who was born in Springfield, Tenn. about 1770? The said WILLIAM PIKE, (first above mentioned), emigrated to Southern Illinois by wagon train and crossed the Ohio River into ILLINOIS at Shawneetown. It is thought that this emigrant train crossed the Ohio River sometime between the years 1819 and 1829. It is said that prior to leaving Tennessee he married LOUCINDA YOUNG. Among the known children were: William Presley Pike born May 29, 1929—died December 31, 1911, Elijah Pike, Thomas Pike, and George Pike. ABRAHAM PIKE (perhaps ABRAM PIKE) remained in Tennessee, lived to be old, died, and was buried there. Any information whatsoever will be gratefully appreciated.—Address, THE GENEALOGICAL EDITOR, P.O. Box 475, Johnson City, Tenn.
