Query Ninety-Five

PEARSON—JONES—BAGLEY (BEGLEY)—OGAN (OGIN)—WOLFE—Wanted: Information concerning these Pennsylvania and Tennessee families. Their ancestral lines; names of their descendants; records of the Revolutionary war service in said families; dates of births, marriages, deaths, and all genealogical data possible to be obtained. William Pearson (may be Person) born in Pennsylvania in 1760, married about 1780 Sarah Jones, and died in 1844 in Tennessee. They had sons named, Thomas Pearson, William Pearson, Samuel Pearson, Charles Pearson, and Kindred Pearson. Query: Was one of these sons the father of Kate Pearson who married Henry (Harry) Bagley (or Begley)? The said Kate Bagley (or Begley) nee Pearson had a son William Bagley (or Begley) born in 1818 who married Mary Polly Mariah Ogan (or Ogin). The said Mary Polly Mariah Bagley (or Begley) nee Ogan (or Ogin) was the daughter of John Ogan (or Ogin) and Kate Ogan (or Ogin) nee Wolfe (born in 1797). Henry (Harry) Bagley (or Begley), see above, also had the following children whose given names were viz., Christian, Pleasant, John, Susan, William and Nancy. Listed among “Heads of Families” in the census of 1790 in Pennsylvania are found the following persons: John Ogin and Peter Ogin in Abington Township, Montgomery County, Penn. John Beagle, (any spelling seems to be possible on this name), in East Nantmill Township, Chester County, Penn. William Pearson in Kennett Township, Chester County, Penn. It is thought that some of my ancestors are listed in the “Heads of Families” given above. Further information is wanted in order to establish ancestral lines or disapprove same. It is also thought that Kate Wolfe, (wife of John Ogan (or Ogin)), was a widow possibly of _____Bull. Help in tracing out this supposition will be thankfully received. Correspondence concerning any of the above named persons is desired. Address: MRS. ELDO B. LANE, Registrar, Arkansas Valley Chapter, D.A.R. and member of Vermont Society of Mayflower Descendants, (Elder-William Brewster, ancestor), 1334 Cyprus Street, Pueblo, Colorado.
